This category includes projects which involve the purchase and installation of equipment, systems and processes utilising renewable energy resources for the generation of electricity and/or heat and/or cooling and/or any other form of energy replacing fossil fuel resources, such as:
- Hydro power or run-of-the-river up to 10 MW
- Wind energy up to 20 MW
- Biomass investments up to 5 MWe (electric output)
- Biomass heat only boilers
- Solar thermal
- Building integrated solar photovoltaic installations
- Geothermal including heat pumps
- Biogas from agricultural processes and waste water treatment, landfill gas
The minimum loan amount is €0.1 million; the maximum loan amount is €10 million. The minimum Internal Rate of Return required is 8%, excluding the incentive payment.
The incentive payment, or the Carbon Reduction Compensation (CRC), may vary in between 5 – 20% of the disbursed loan amount. The calculation of the CRC depends on the amount of greenhouse gas emissions avoided as a result of the investment. Applying for a Carbon Reduction Compensation under SlovSEFF III may impact a project's ability to qualify for a feed-in tariff.
Reporting to SIEA
Renewable energy projects are required to report their energy production by source as well as GHG emissions avoided as a result of the investment on an annual basis to the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) for a period of 5 years after project completion. The reporting template is available here. Borrowers will be assisted to comply with this procedure.
